It all began 23 years ago, when our founder, Sarah Watermeyer, designed the offices of the South African below-the-line film company, Blue Moon. Her work on this space was published, and Sarah Watermeyer Design was born. Little did we know we’d later become one of the top interior designers in Gauteng.

Having studied theatre design at the University of Cape Town, Sarah has imbibed in our company a keen understanding of how interior spaces work for the people who navigate themselves through them. Sarah’s work is inspired by her love for architecture, but she is passionate about creating interior spaces. Here at Sarah Watermeyer Design, we design stunning spaces that showcase the beauty in interior architecture.
Sarah Watermeyer Design is not passionate only about creating new homes, but also about keeping existing homes and repurposing them for today’s lifestyle and our clients’ needs. We have done both local and international work over the past 23 years, in locations such as Cape Town, Johannesburg, The Bahamas, Shropshire (UK), Stutterheim, Plettenberg Bay, Leopard Creek, Gowrie, Mbona (Midlands), and Leshiba (Limpopo).

We an extensive portfolio of residential work, and in recent years have entered the commercial design industry, working with hospitality professionals to create beautiful guest farms that truly reflect the African Spirit.
